What is PDLLA (Poly D, L – Lactic Acid) ?

PLA (Polylactic acid) is biomaterial that is produced by polymerizing the lactic acid obtained from the fermentation of agricultural products such as corn or potato. PLA has been approved by the US FDA and European regulatory authorities for resolvable medical materials such as surgical sutures and orthopedic implants.

PDLLA, the safest and most biocompatible isomer of PLA, allows collagen production in the safest way, thanks to its unique structure.

“Spherical & Foamy Structure” Particle of PDLLA
The shattered crystal shape of usual PLA particles often results in unbalanced collagen production and excessive immune reaction, causing granuloma. Unlike PDLLA, particles gradually decompose from the inside. The gradual decomposition of its reticular and porous inner network prevents a drastic acidity change in the surrounding tissue environment. A spherical and foamy surface prevents tissue damage and helps uniformly regenerate collagen, resulting in even and natural volume augmentation.
